The University of Birmingham is home to numerous research grants, including advanced assessment of medical devices, substantial investments in research for spinal fractures arising from bone metastases (EPSRC Programme Grant: Oncological Engineering) and peri-prosthetic fractures (Zimmer-Biomet).
Uppsala University, founded in 1477, is Sweden’s oldest university and a globally respected centre for research and innovation. Offering extensive expertise and resources specialised in biomedical engineering research and development and create the scientific foundation for innovation in the performance of medical devices.
Research including Additive Manufacturing for the Life Sciences (VINNOVA funded Competence Centre), and Soft Bone (EIT Health funded) a new generation of low modulus materials designed to fix and prevent fractures in the vertebrae as well as augmentation of the disc have been undertaken at this institution.
ETH Zurich is a public research university in the city of Zürich with a rich expertise in medical device development with previous collaborations with UK universities through the Nu-Spine and BioTrib programme grants which both focussed on advanced biotribology and biomechanics research to develop new paradigms in joint replacements. Other research relevant to FractureFix such as advanced imaging and modelling for pathological fractures (FHT Singapore) and fracture modelling in metastatic disease (EU funded METASTRA) have been completed at ETH Zurich.

Which have over 25 years’ experience in the field of Simulation and are the only UK specialist Siemens business partner to provide sales, training, support and consulting for the Siemens Tecnomatix Digital Manufacturing suite of software tools. Also providing significant experience in the Medical Devices industry having worked closely with Prosim since the late 1990s.
